The Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) with the support of the embassy of the United Kingdom in Kosovo and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, are implementing the project entitled "Professional development of the Kosovo Probation Service to face terrorism and violent extremism".
The main goal of the project is to develop the professional capacities of the Kosovo Probation Service in the implementation of Rehabilitation and Re-Integration (R&R) programs for citizens returned from conflict areas or convicted for acts of terrorism and violent extremism, with the main focus on the gender component in R&R. Through the provision of professional training, this project aims for KPS staff to have the skills, knowledge and systems to handle the re-integration and rehabilitation of those convicted of violent extremism and terrorism. Additionally, the project aims at strengthening inter-institutional coordination during the R&R process of individuals repatriated from foreign conflict zones. The main beneficiary of this project is the Kosovo Probation Service. Other beneficiaries of the project include MIA, NGOs, the community, and local authorities.
