In an effort to enhance its monitoring, evaluation, and learning practices, the staff of the KCSS is currently attending a capacity building training session. The training on Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning covers various aspects of MEL methodology, data collection and analysis, reporting, and organizational learning.
The training session started with an exploration of the basic definitions and principles of MEL. Participants delved into the significance of monitoring, evaluation, and learning in the context of organizational development and impact assessment. The importance of establishing clear objectives, indicators, and benchmarks for effective MEL practices was emphasized, along with the role of MEL in guiding decision-making processes.
Throughout the training, attendees familiarized themselves with different MEL methodologies and the relevant instruments used to collect, analyze, and report data. The trainer Nertile Latifi (MEL Specialist) shared her expertise and provided practical examples to illustrate the application of these methodologies. Participants actively engaged in discussions and interactive exercises to deepen their understanding and enhance their skills in MEL.
In addition to examining general MEL practices, the training also included a specific review of MEL opportunities tailored to the needs of KCSS. Participants were introduced to key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with the center's objectives. The establishment of a comprehensive learning agenda was explored as a means to drive organizational development and enhance the impact of KCSS's work.
