This week, KCSS representatives met with the Deputy Mayor if Lipjan Municipality, Mr. Diamant Bytyqi, to introduce the FIERC project and to initiate the establishment of the Community Forums for Public Interest in this municipality.
During the meeting, the Deputy Mayor, Mr. Bytyqi expressed support for the new initiative to establish the CFPI, and highlighted the willingness of the Municipality of Lipjan to advance inter-ethnic relations through smart integration. KCSS thanks the Municipality of Lipjan for its participation in the common cause for improving inter-ethnic relations. The first meeting of the CFPI in this municipality will take place in the coming week.
Community Forums for Public Interest (CFPI) represent one of the main components of the FIERC project, which will serve as a platform for meetings between municipal structures and community representatives to discuss common issues and challenges of communities living in multi-ethnic municipalities. CFPIs also aim to facilitate communication between communities, and access to local decision-making authorities, with a primary focus on advancing inter-ethnic relations and cooperation.
This meeting was organized within the project Fostering Interethnic Relations and Cooperation (FIERC) implemented by Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) in partnership with the New Social Initiative (NSI) funded by the Stability Pact Fund of the German Federal Foreign Office.
