Geneva, 10–11 December 2025: The Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) is participating—for the third consecutive year—in the Civil Society Organization (CSO)–United Nations Dialogue on Peacebuilding, held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. This year’s Dialogue focuses on operationalizing a whole‑of‑system approach to peacebuilding, with Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) as cross‑cutting themes.

KCSS is represented by Head of Research, Dr. Ramadan Ilazi, who also facilitated the Eastern Europe breakout session, contributing regional lessons and concrete recommendations on coherence across the peace, human rights, development, and humanitarian pillars.

KCSS’s engagement in Geneva builds directly on the Western Balkans Sub‑Regional CSO–UN Dialogue, co‑hosted with the CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation in Prishtina on 25–26 November 2025. Those consultations gathered CSO leaders and UN actors from across the region to distill practical entry points for integrated action—particularly through WPS and YPS—and to strengthen civil society–UN cooperation. The key takeaways from Prishtina are being fed into the global Dialogue to ensure Western Balkans priorities inform decision‑making at the UN.

KCSS participates in the Geneva Dialogue as part of the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO) community, reinforcing our commitment to evidence‑based policy engagement, regional cooperation, and operational integration into European peace and security architectures.

Initiated by the UN’s Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO), the annual CSO–UN Dialogue convenes civil society and multilateral partners to align global frameworks with local realities, strengthen accountability and learning, and advance sustainable financing for peacebuilding.
