COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN PREVENTING VIOLENT EXTREMISM IN KLINA MUNICIPALITY

KCSS, on 19th of December 2016 has organized the last conference for this year in municipality of Klina. During this conference was emphasized the tolerance and respect among communities in the municipality of Klina, on the other hand the representatives of institutions tresed out the need to change the education system, increase activities for youth and to develope the critical thinking in curricula. This conference aimed community involvement in the prevention violent extremism that leads to radicalism.

During the last quarter of the year, KCSS has organized various of activities in 6 municipalities of Kosovo, such as: Decani, Peja, Gjakova, Klina, Prizren and Vitia. KCSS has organized 18 debates with high school students, and 6 conferences and more than 30 meetings with representatives of municipalities, representatives of Security Institutions, Kosovo Police, Islamic Community, and citizens.

These activities are organized on the framework of KCSS programme to counter violent extremism supported by the US Embassy in Prishtina, a project that aims to engage citizens' and community of 11 Municipalities of Kosovo in countering and preventing violent extremism and radicalization in Kosovo.
