PEACE-BUILDING IN KOSOVO, CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION AND CONDITIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE PEACE

PAQE-NDËRTIMI NË KOSOVË: TRANSFORMIMI I KUSHTEVE TË KONFLIKTIT PËR PAQE TË QËNDRUESHME

KCSS Researcher, Donika Emini has been invited as a panelist in round table discussion e " Peace-building in Kosovo, conflict transformation and conditions for sustainable peace." This roundtable was organized by the UBT College, Kosovo.

The aim of this conference was to discuss peace building with particular focus on the case of Kosovo. Besides the panel discussion, during the roundtable UBT published the most recent publication, "Liberal peace building, summary of academic and pedagogical debates and literature on peace building"

Other invited panelists were:

• Prof. Edmond Hajrizi, rector of the UBT College

• Prof. Besa Luzha, Program Coordinator at Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Prishtina

• Prof. Behlul Beqaj professor at the UBT College

• Mr. Ramadan Ilazi, author of the book

The presentation of the KCSS researcher was focused external threats towards Kosovo, with special emphasis on dialogue with Serbia - in the context of regional cooperation. Among other things, the presentation focused on key findings of the Kosovo Security Barometer with emphasis on the perceptions towards thedialogue with Serbia. In this line, it was stressed that it is very important to develop a roadmap/ guideline for conditionaldialogue with Serbia, and the need to re-consider Kosovo’s position in this proces.
