First Meeting of the Community Forum for Public Interest in Viti

On April 7 the first meeting of the Community Forum for Public Interest in Vitia was organized.

The representatives of the Kosovar Center for Security Studies  and the "FIERC" project held the first meeting of the Community Forum for Public Interest, where the working group of this forum was formed, consisting of 13 members. This forum will carry out the duties and responsibilities based on the cooperation agreement which was signed in February of this year, between the mayor of the municipality Sokol Haliti and KCSS:

The CFPI in Vitia Municipality will be led by the deputy mayor of this municipality, Hasan Aliu, who opened the first meeting of the forum by informing the participants of the objectives of the FIERC project and the ideas of civic initiatives that will be implemented in this municipality through the FIERC project. The CFPI in this municipality will serve as a platform to discuss ideas about the common needs of all the majority and non-majority communities of this municipality.

Vitia CFPI's mentor, Mr. Nazim Haliti, was also introduced in the meeting. Mr. Haliti will coordinate and mentor the activities in cooperation with the members of the forum.

Community Forums in the Public Interest (CFPI) represent one of the main components of the FIERC project. They will serve as a platform for meetings between municipal structures and community representatives to discuss common issues and challenges of the communities living in the municipalities of Kosovo. CFPIs also aim to facilitate community communication and access to municipal decision-making authorities, with a primary focus on advancing inter-ethnic relations and cooperation.

The FIERC project - Encouraging inter-ethnic cooperation and reconciliation is implemented by the Kosovo Center for Security Studies - QKSS and New Social Initiative (NSI) with the support of the Stability Pact Fund of the German Federal Foreign Office.
