Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) is happy to announce the essay competition What NATO means to You?, in the framework of the project "Celebrating of NATO 70th Anniversary and 20th Anniversary of KFOR Mission’s Deployment in Kosovo with Youth, Women and Non-Majority Ethnic Communities".
NATO is celebrating the 70th anniversary, this milestone will be coinciding with the 20th anniversary of KFOR deployment in Kosovo. This provides an excellent impetus to offer this unique opportunity by inviting young professionals to submit their essays.
We are interested to know how you perceive NATO, what NATO means to you, what is the importance of NATO as security provider in Kosovo, and more importantly we want to read and share your personal experience and story related to NATO and KFOR deployment in Kosovo.
General Instructions
The essay competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students (age 18 – 24)
The authors should submit an essay of 800- 1200 words on the subject. Essay longer than 1200 will not be considered
The essays shall be written using the Times New Roman 12, double space
Footnotes shall be integrated in the text using the Harvard Style
Write the essay in Albanian or English
Be original and share your experience and story
Prize:
Three best essays will receive 150 Euros and a Certificate
How to apply:
Follow the instructions and send your essay and ID (Identification Card, Passport or School/Faculty ID) no later than May 17, 2019 at 23:59 to [email protected].
So, what’s the benefit for you?
The top three essays from both sets of questions will be expert reviewed and published on the KCSS website. If you’re interested in a career in research and writing, having your own essay expert reviewed is an invaluable experience. In addition, having an article posted on a distinguished publication, like the KCSS and NATO PDD, will help you develop and pursue career in the security sector.
The winning essays will be selected by a jury of the KCSS research team. The winners will then be announced on the KCSS Facebook page no later than 10 days after the deadline.
This activity is being supported by the NATO Public Diplomacy Division (NATO PDD) and implemented by the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS).
