On April 8, 2019, the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) in cooperation with “Humani Centar Mitrovica” has organized a roundtable titled “Increasing the trust and dialogue between the Zveçan community and law enforcement institutions in Kosovo”.
The aim of this activity was to provide a dialogue platform with the purpose of increasing the trust and cooperation between citizens and state mechanisms in Kosovo, with focus in the municipality of Zveçan. Through such meetings, KCSS aims to enable Zveçan citizens to better understand the role of the Kosovo Police in improving their security and to emphasize the importance of cooperation between law enforcement institutions and local communities in achieving a safe and prosperous environment.
This event gathered citizens from Zveçan and Mitrovica, representatives from civil society organizations, media, Kosovo Police and embassies. The citizens had a chance to discuss various concerns regarding their safety and security. Moreover, they identified the measures that Kosovo Police should take to improve the safety of local citizens.
This activity is organized in the framework of the project "Increasing the trust and dialogue between the Kosovo non- majority communities and law enforcement institutions in Kosovo”, supported by the Canada Fund for Local Initiative (CFLI)
