On 2 nd of September, Monday, the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies held a focus group with citizens of Prishtina covering the topic of the effect of the agreements of the Kosovo-Serbia Technical Dialogue.
KCSS is active in researching the perceptions of citizens about the Dialogue process since 2013. In addition, the KCSS is covering the research component within the project “Promoting and Communicating the Benefits of Dialogue Facilitated by the EU”. In order to have a more realistic view of how the dialogue has impacted on the lives of citizens, the KCSS has decided to use focus groups in the five Kosovo municipalities as the main contribution of the research, with Prishtina as one of the key municipalities.
This focus group aimed to stimulate discussion and get the opinions of citizens about the real effect that dialogue has had on the lives of citizens. Apart from measuring the real effect that dialogue has had on citizens’ lives, the focus group also aimed to actively raise awareness about the benefits of this process. Through this focus group, the KCSS learned how citizens are informed about Dialogue with Serbia, emerging technical agreements that affect freedom of movement of people and goods, the market, business and employment. Also, with this focus the KCSS also aimed to figure out what your thoughts are about the future of the dialogue, who is winning more and who is losing.
