In light of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) between the European Union and Kosovo discussions that enhances the role of Kosovo women in this process and how can we improve their participation have been initiated. The panel discussion was organized in the framework of the “FemArt”- Women Artists and activists Festival for Human rights.
KCSS Researcher along with other women activists from civil society were invited to discuss the benefits that the SAA will bring for women of Kosovo. The panel was comprised of:

Nora Latifi Jashari – Executive Director - GAP Institute
Jeta Krasniqi – Program Manager – Kosovo Democratic institute – KDI
While discussing the SAA for Kosovo, KCSS researcher focused her presentation in the importance of the SAA as a first contractual agreement between Kosovo and the EU. She highlighted the need to ensure coordination between relevant institutions responsible for the implementation of the SAA in Kosovo.
Her main focus remained the security components of the agreement, which is correlated to the security sector reform in Kosovo. Among others, she mentioned the opportunities for women in the security sector institutions and the potential enhancement of the role of women after the transformation of the Kosovo Security Forces into Kosovo Armed Forces.
