KCSS researcher, Donika Emini has been invited as a speaker at the Balkan Youth Forum 2017. This event has been organized by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Kosovo and gathered young professionals and scholars from the six Western Balkan countries. The topic of the panel was “the role of women in civil society in Kosovo”.
Other panelists invited to give their contribution were:
Marigona Lajqi – KAS Kosovo
Remzije Istrefi – Professor at the University of Prishtina
Jeta Krasniqi – Project Manager at Kosovo Democratic Institute
The main focus of the discussion was the role of women as civil society activist, the challenges and the overall inclusion in women in this sector – not only in mid and low level of management, but also as leaders of civil society organizations. Donika focused her presentation in the overall role of women in the security sector – including here those from civil society advocating for good governance, security sector reform. But also, the challenges of women who wish to build a career in the security sector.
