Ethnically Marginalized Youth Empowerment in Kosovo and Bosnia & Hercegovina 

Title: Experts for Innovation in Regional Cooperation Workshop on 3/4 December 2024

Background 

The project "Innovation in Regional Cooperation among Youth in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina" aims to empower youth to play a transformative role in fostering regional collaboration and peaceful coexistence. This initiative recognizes the diverse perspectives and potential of young people from both regions and seeks to provide them with the tools and platforms necessary to strengthen cooperation and overcome regional challenges. 

The "Regional Cooperation Workshop" will be organized on 3/4 December 2024, focusing on equipping youth in Kosovo and Bosnia & Herzegovina with practical skills and strategies to enhance cross-border partnerships and address common regional issues. This workshop will enable participants to collaboratively explore innovative solutions, deepen their understanding of regional cooperation, and foster mutual respect. Through a combination of presentations, discussions, and hands-on activities, this initiative aims to empower participants to become advocates of regional unity and development. 

Objective 

These terms of reference aim to outline the role and responsibilities of the expert presenter facilitating the one day workshop. The expert presenter will be expected to deliver a high-quality presentation covering the following topics: 

An introduction to the core principles of regional cooperation, including the importance of collaboration and mutual respect. 

Techniques for identifying and addressing regional challenges through innovative, cooperative approaches. 

Strategies to build awareness and appreciation of shared interests and goals between participants from Kosovo and Bosnia & Herzegovina. 

Guiding participants in developing actionable plans to implement the insights gained and promote regional cooperation within their communities. 

 

Tasks and Deliverables 

The expert presenter will be responsible for the following tasks and deliverables: 

Developing a comprehensive agenda and session plans for the two-day Regional Cooperation Workshop, detailing timings, topics, and hands-on activities to engage participants effectively. 

Providing clear and effective instruction throughout the workshop, ensuring participants acquire essential skills for fostering regional cooperation. 

Assisting participants in conceptualizing and drafting action plans for promoting regional collaboration, offering constructive feedback and support. 

Facilitating group discussions and reflections on the significance of regional cooperation in promoting peace and stability. 

 

Qualifications and Requirements 

The expert presenter should have the following qualifications and requirements: 

Education:  

A master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Regional Studies, or a related field. 

Experience: 

At least two years of experience in facilitating workshops or training sessions focused on regional cooperation, peacebuilding, or cross-cultural collaboration. 

Experience in conflict resolution and facilitating discussions on sensitive regional issues. 

Languages: 

Fluency in spoken and written English.  

Remuneration 

The assignment will take place on 3/4 December 2024, with a total of one working day. The remuneration for the expert presenter will be based on the agreed daily rate, totaling 400 euros for the assignment, and will be paid in a single installment upon completion.

Relevance and quality of the experience and qualifications (70%). 

Relevance and quality of the sample presentation materials (30%). 

The shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview by 25/11/2024. The final selection will be made by 28/11/2024.
