This Erasmus+ project aims to empower young people with few opportunities in Romania, Montenegro, and Kosovo by equipping them with skills in journalism, social media, and policymaking to enhance their role in democratic participation. Through a structured learning process, the project will guide youth from training to real-world application and engagement with decision-makers.
The journey begins with the development of specialized workshops and toolkits, created by partner organizations in each country. A series of 3 Boot Camps organized by each organization, focused on journalism, social media, and policy making will engage students from small cities to be democratic active. These materials will be shared across organizations, ensuring consistency and quality in training.
Once the toolkits are ready, national boot camps will be held, bringing together young participants eager to develop expertise in media and policy. Each partner organization will conduct three boot camps, training 45 students per organization in journalism, social media, and policymaking. In total, 12 boot camps will engage 180 young participants, forming a network of engaged youth who will become National Young Ambassadors.
Following the boot camps, students will take on active roles in their communities by applying their knowledge. Journalism participants will write articles on themes related to the youth sector, those trained in social media will create digital campaigns on youth matters and the policy-focused participants will develop policy proposals focused on youngsters’ problems. This phase will expand the project’s impact, engaging over 1,200 young people through workshops on journalism, policymaking, and social media, facilitated by the trained National Young Ambassadors.
