Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS), today, on 4th of May 2017, has launched the report “Reintegration of returning foreign fighters: what approach best suits Kosovo?”. Through this report, KCSS aims to bring an alternative program for the rehabilitation and reintegration of radicalized persons.
Since Kosovo does not have experience on dealing with returned foreign fighters, especially with rehabilitation and reintegration programs, this report adapt some of good models and experiences from some countries which have already started implementation of such programs.
During the prezentation of this report was disscusses about:
Foreign practices which Kosovo possibly can adapt within the Kosovar model;
Subject which should undergo through these programs;
The readiness of community related to the accepting of radicalized persons back into society;
Three main phases of these programs: Rehabilitation phase, reintegration and post-prison phase;
Kosovo challenges in the implementation of such programs.
The conference was attended by representatives of central institutions, Correctional Services, representatives from diplomatic sevrvice, civil society and media.
