QKSS zhvillon diskutim mbi sigurinë në shkolla në Gjimnazin “Dr. Shaban Hashani” në Ferizaj

The Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) held its next discussion at “Dr. Shaban Hashani” Gymnasium in Ferizaj as part of the project “A Generation at Risk: Addressing Youth Crime and School Safety through Evidence-Based Research and Reform.”

The discussion was based on findings from the student questionnaire conducted within the school, which highlighted several key challenges related to youth safety and wellbeing in school environments.

The findings show that students generally feel safe inside classrooms and school corridors, while feelings of insecurity are more present in school bathrooms and areas surrounding the school. Social media was also identified as one of the main drivers of conflicts among young people.

During the discussion, participants emphasized the need for stronger school discipline, increased psychological support for students, and improved reporting and prevention mechanisms.

These activities contribute to the development of evidence-based recommendations aimed at creating a safer and more inclusive environment for young people.

This activity was organized within the framework of the project “A Generation at Risk: Addressing Youth Crime and School Safety through Evidence-Based Research and Reform,” implemented by KCSS in cooperation with the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM), with support from Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans.
