QKSS takohet me Kryetarin e Komunës së Vitisë për themelimin e Forumit të Komunitetit për Interes Publik (CFPI)

Today, KCSS representatives met with the Mayor of Vitia Municipality, Mr. Sokol Haliti, to introduce him to the FIERC project and to initiate the creation of Community Forums for Public Interest (CFPI) in this municipality.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Vitia informed us about the initiatives taken by this municipality to improve inter-ethnic relations between the communities living in Vitia, as well as about his commitment to further advance the rights of non-majority communities. Moreover, he expressed his readiness and welcomed the cooperation with the KCSS to establish Community Forums for Public Interest. The first CFPI meetings of this municipality are expected to begin in the coming weeks. KCSS thanks the Mayor of Vitia Municipality for his work and willingness to cooperate to facilitate inter-ethnic cooperation.

Community Forums for Public Interest (CFPI) represent one of the main components of the FIERC project, which will serve as a platform for meetings between municipal structures and community representatives to discuss common issues and challenges of communities living in multi-ethnic municipalities. CFPIs also aim to facilitate communication between communities, and access to local decision-making authorities, with a primary focus on advancing inter-ethnic relations and cooperation.

This meeting was organized within the project Fostering Interethnic Relations and Cooperation (FIERC) implemented by Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) in partnership with the New Social Initiative (NSI) funded by the Stability Pact Fund of the German Federal Foreign Office.
