PLATOR AVDIU PARTICIPATED IN SEMINAR REGARDING THE: EUROPEAN UNION’S ROLE ON PEACE BUILDING AND THE CONFLICT PREVENTION

Kosovar Centre for Security Studies’ researcher, Plator Avdiu, participated in the training seminar regarding the European Union’s role on peace building and the conflict prevention. The seminar was organized by the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO) in Brussels on 9-10 July 2015.

Within the seminar was discussed on the EU’s institutional capacities in general and EU’s duty as a foreign policy actor as to peace building in particular. Furthermore, speakers among the non-governmental organizations, think tanks and the EU institutions analysed in details role and challenges of the European Parliament, European Commission, the Council of the EU, the European Council as well as the European External Action Service in the peace building in various European countries and in the conflict areas. This activity was attended by representatives of civil society organizations from different European countries. In the final session of the training seminar were devised and presented strategy advocacies for peace building and conflict prevention by the groups of participants according to the EU’s stance.
