Kosovar Centre for Security Studies has organized today the closing conference of the one-year project "Countering violent extremism", which was implemented in 11 municipalities of Kosovo, such as Kaçanik, Hani i Elezit, Ferizaj, Prizren, Klinë, Deçan, Prizren, Peja, Gjilan, Gjakova and Kamenica
During the one year period, the KCSS successfully managed to organize 40 debates with high school students, 11 roundtable discussions with municipal actors, 11 debates with women's organizations and 11 meetings with journalists.
The aim of the conference was to present the challenges of the local community, youth, media and women's organizations in dealing with violent extremism and radicalism in Kosovo. Also, will be presented the recommendations that offer solutions on how to approach the problem of violent extremism and radicalism in Kosovo.
Participants to this conference were representatives of the Government of Kosovo, relevant municipalities that were part of the project, civil society, media, international presence in Kosovo, Kosovo Assembly, Kosovo Police, women's organizations, and other relevant representatives involved in activities related to the prevention and combating of violent extremism in Kosovo.
This project is supported by the US State Department and is the largest of its kind in Kosovo.
