The Kosovar Center for Security Studies (KCSS) together with the International Republican Institute launched today the report “Understanding Local Drivers of Violent Extremism in Kosovo”. This report is based in qualitative methods of inquiry, mainly in -depth interviews and focus group discussions.
Present in the event there were representatives of the Government of Kosovo, representatives of different embassies in Kosovo, civil society representatives, and representatives of the Police of Kosovo.
Some of the recommendations that followed the findings of the report, are: Improve transparency by providing citizens with access to information about government decision – making and improved access to government programs; build more responsive government policies and programs to prevent and counter violent extremism, and improve coordination between national and local authorities.
