COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN PREVENTING VIOLENT EXTREMISM

PËRFSHIRJA E KOMUNITETIT NË PARANDALIMIN E EKSTREMIZMIT TË DHUNSHËM

Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) today, on 27th of October 2016, has organized the conference “Community involvement in preventing violent extremism” in Municipality of Decan, Kosovo.

The aim of the conference is to discuss challenges of Kosovo in facing violent extremism and radicalization, also to find the best practices towards preventing and combating this phenomen. These topics include a wide range of groups such as: the role of women, students, journalists and religious communities in preventing violent extremism.

The panel was composed by:

• Mr.Rasim Selmanaj, Mayor of the Municipality of Deçan

• Mr.Rasim Bytyçi, Head of Islamic Association in Deçan

• Mr. Sejdi Dobraj, Commander at the Police Station in Deçan


 

This activity is supported by US Embassy in Prishtina and is part of KCSS activities in preventing violent extremism and violent radicalization, which will be implemented in all municipalities of Kosovo.
