COUNTERING AND PREVENTING VIOLENT EXTREMISM - LESSONS FROM THE WESTERN BALKANS

KCSS Director, Dr Florian Qehaja has presented the findings of KCSS Report on violent extremism and Balkans foreign fighters in Middle East conflicts. The presentation was held at Columbia University and was moderated by Professor Austin Long, one of the most known academics in the field.

The presentation gathered a selected audience of the Saltzman Institute for War and Peace Studies of the Columbia University. The presentation triggered debate and interest from the audience on the causes of extremism and the work of Kosovo civil society and the state in preventing further widespread of extremist ideas.
