Firstly, he contributed into a workshop organized by Berghof Foundation. The goal of the workshop was sharing the experiences on the security transitions in the broader region of Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Florian’s contribution was based upon a research produced for the purpose of Berghof which identifies the experiences of the Western Balkans in the security transitions. The KCSS paper focused on the key features of security transitions and in the Balkans. The experience of the region is essential to emerging democracies in MENA region. KCSS maintains very good partnership with Berghof Foundation.
Secondly, Florian had the pleasure to contribute in the panel on the prospects of Kosovo’s visa liberalization process. The panel was organized by the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS) in conjunction with the Ministry of European Integration and Kosovo Embassy in Berlin. Florian pointed out that, despite ongoing problems with the rule of law, the criteria’s have been implemented and the visa liberlisation would mark a significant contribution to the freedom of movement and general security situation in Kosovo. A number of key German governmental and civil society organisations participated in the event. KFOS also launched a documentary movie “Rejected” which explains the difficulties of visa regime to Kosovo.
