CONFERENCE: INCLUSION OR EXCLUSION - MINORITIES IN THE SECURITY SECTOR IN POST-INDEPENDENT KOSOVO

Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) organizes a conference with the topic: “Inclusion or Exclusion- Minorities in the Security Sector in Post-Independent Kosovo”. The conference will be held as part of the project entitled: “Minority Inclusion in Kosovo Security Sector Institutions”, published with the support of the official development assistance program of the Slovak Republic SlovakAid.

The conference will present preliminary findings on the role and participation of ethnic minority groups in Kosovo Security Sector, namely in the security institutions. A brief analysis on the current situation of ethnic non-majority group’s participation in the Kosovo Police and Kosovo Security Force will be the focus of the conference. Additionally, the paper also analyzes the legal framework as well as the challenges of the security institutions on fulfilling and the main requirements set by the legal framework. The conference will have a discussion nature with invited panelists. The findings will be used in the upcoming research efforts of the partners.
