FOCUS GROUP IN MUNICIPALITY OF GJILAN - ANALYZING THE REINTEGRATION PROCESS OF RETURNED FOREIGN FIGHTERS BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

In the framework of the project titled: “Analyzing the reintegration process of returned foreign fighters back to the community”, on 18th of November 2019, Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) has organized a focus group in the municipality of Gjilan.

The aim of this activity is to analyze the reintegration of the returned foreign fighters process and its challenges in Kosovo. Through this activity, the participants that consisted of municipality, local NGO-s, referral mechanism and community representatives, discussed on the current state of the reintegration process and Gjilan municipality communities readiness to accept the returnees back to the community.

The project activities also contribute in the implementation of the action plan of the national strategy for preventing and countering of violent extremism and radicalization that leads to terrorism. The project is supported by the International Republican Institute (IRI) and is implemented in the municipality of Gjilan, Kacanik, Prizren, Prishtina and Mitrovica.
