The National Agency for Protection of Personal Data organized a conference marking the Data Protection Day in Kosovo.
KCSS provided its support to the agency due to the follow up efforts for increasing the awareness of Kosovo citizens with regard to their rights to privacy. KCSS Director, Florian Qehaja, provided a presentation on non-governmental perspective for protection of personal data in Kosovo. The KCSS Director highlighted the lack of expertise in the field of protection of data in Kosovo and consequently asked from the European Commission the support in capacity building of the young people and not only to the Agency. He mentioned the concerns as for the potential violation of private data during the Census in 2011, biometric data as well as allegations towards the private universities.
