Ethnically Marginalized Youth Empowerment in Kosovo and Bosnia & Hercegovina

Background
The project "Ethnically Marginalized Youth Empowerment in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina" aims to amplify and support the potential of ethnically marginalized youth, ensuring they play an active role in shaping the region's future. Recognizing both the diversity and the challenges faced by these youth, this initiative is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every voice is heard and valued.
The "Youth Advocacy Campaign" activity, set to take place between 14 to 24 December 2024, will focus on equipping youth in Kosovo and Bosnia & Herzegovina with essential advocacy skills to lead positive changes in their communities. Through training and guidance, participants will learn effective strategies to raise awareness, promote inclusion, and drive impactful community initiatives. This campaign will empower youth to become proactive advocates for social cohesion and community engagement.
Objective
These terms of reference outline the role and responsibilities of the expert presenter leading the four-day Youth Advocacy Campaign workshop. The expert presenter will deliver engaging presentations covering topics such as:
An overview of advocacy principles, including the role of youth in driving social change and fostering community engagement.
Techniques for creating and implementing impactful advocacy campaigns, including strategy planning, communication, and outreach.
Methods to raise awareness on pressing social issues, including storytelling, public speaking, and digital advocacy.
Guiding participants to create actionable advocacy plans tailored to their communities, encouraging meaningful and sustainable impact.
Tasks and Deliverables
The expert presenter will be responsible for the following tasks and deliverables:
Developing a detailed agenda and session plans for the four-day Youth Advocacy Campaign workshop, outlining key topics, timings, and interactive activities.
Providing clear and practical instruction to participants, ensuring they acquire essential advocacy skills throughout the workshop.
Assisting participants in developing, refining, and presenting their advocacy campaign ideas, offering constructive feedback and insights.
Leading group discussions and reflections on the role of youth advocacy in fostering social change and community cohesion.
Qualifications and Requirements
The expert presenter should have the following qualifications and requirements:
Education:
A master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Communication, or a related field.
Experience:
At least two years of experience in conducting workshops on youth advocacy, community engagement, or social change.
Experience in campaign development, communication strategies, and guiding youth-led initiatives.
Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written in English. Knowledge of Bosnian language would be an asset.
Remuneration
The assignment will run from 14 to 24 December 2024, with an estimated commitment of three working days. The remuneration will be based on an agreed daily rate, taking into account the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience, for a total of 400 euro per day.

Relevance and quality of the experience and qualifications (70%).
Relevance and quality of the sample presentation materials (30%).
