KCSS Executive Director, Florian Qehaja, provided number of presentations in three separate events. His active involvement in the regional and international arena reflects the growing role of KCSS.
Qehaja was one of the panelist of Belgrade Security Forum, which was held from 19-21 September in Belgrade. The forum is a joint platform of Belgrade Centre for Security Policy, Belgrade Centre for Political Excellence and European Movement in Serbia. The panel was titled “Overcoming the gaps of security cooperation in the Western Balkans”. Qehaja presented along other panellists from the region. Number of issues was raised on the prospective security cooperation between countries in the region.
Qehaja provided two separate presentations at the DCAF conference “Fostering parliamentary oversight and accountability” which was held from 23-26 September in Ljubljana. The conference served as platform for discussion for the Kosovo parliamentarians, representatives of police, KSF, judiciary and independent state institutions of Kosovo. The first presentation was focused on the potential implication of the satellite surveillance in the national security of Kosovo. The second presentation covered the security clearance and vetting related issues.
The last presentation of Qehaja took place in Zagreb on the 27 and 28 of September 2013. The roundtable organised by PfP Consortium aimed at examining and discussing the prospect of the region in its path to European Union, after the membership of Croatia. Qehaja delivered a presentation entitled “Kosovo and EU: Closing the gap”.
