The Kosovar Center for Security Studies Researcher, Abit Hoxha, participated in an OSCE organized two day seminar on “Violent Extremism and Radicalisation that leads to Terrorism” where he presented on behalf of the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies on the subject of 'Role of Civil Society in Prevention of Violent Extremism and Radicalisation that leads to Terrorism'.
His presentation focused on the subject of emergence of Social Movements and Radicalisation and ending of violence de-radicalisation. Mr. Hoxha spoke about his research experience with social movements and religion in Kosovo as well as on the subject of analysis of social movements from the theoretical perspective using social movement theory and Critical Studies methodology. Mr.Hoxha also mentioned the lack of literature and empirical research on the subject of de-radicalisation and ending of violence and criticized the state approach to counter-radicalisation process as strategic and short term solution that does not address the problem but rather deepens the conflict in society.
