About Project

Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) continues to contribute for good governance in the security sector and preventing and combating violent extremism in local level and security institutions.

Starting from November 2017, KCSS has started implementing the project “Youth in Action – Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism in Kosovo” which is project supported by Embassy of Netherlands in Kosovo and will include six municipalities.

The aim of this project is to prevent the negative phenomena through education and to include youths on “Critical Thinking Platform”. Other activities will engage Council of Parents, Directors of high schools and teachers to facilitate better coordination between youth – parents – teachers as other practices have shown that through this coordination, better work can be done in countering violent extremism.

Through this project,  we intend to raise awareness among young people on the possible ways of radicalization and recruitment of violent extremist’s organizations. Moreover, through debates we intend to discuss on the concepts of tolerance, diversity, and respect of human rights in Kosovo.

This project is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Prishtina, and is being implemented in six municipalities of Kosovo, such as: Mitrovica, Prishtina, Lipjan, Skenderaj, Obiliq and Drenas.
