About Project

“Countering violent extremism (CVE) in Kosovo”, begins with the new Project of Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) in the partnership with the US Government

Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) continues to contribute for good governance in the security sector and preventing and combating violent extremism!

On the beginning of September, KCSS has starte the new project:  “Countering violent extremism (CVE) in Kosovo”, which is a project in partnership with the US government and covers 11 municipalities in Kosovo including: Prizren, Peja, Mitrovica, Gjilan, Ferizaj, Kamenica, Elez Han, Kacanik, Gjakova, Klina and Decan.

The goal of the project is to reduce and mitigate the threat posed by foreign terrorist fighters and other radicalized individuals in Kosovo, by capacity building of involved stakeholders in conducting localized counter-messaging and engaging in the community. More precisely, the project’s final goal is to engage citizens and community members in countering and preventing violent extremism and radicalization in Kosovo. Debates, lectures and many meetings with stakeholders from different fields either from security, media, civil society as well as public institutions will be just some of the activities that are expected to be implemented by a formed research team of KCSS, working on CVE issues
