This project aims to improve the communication between citizens and state institution for better cooperation and coordination on countering and preventing violent extremism in Kosovo.
Kosovar Centre for Security Studies is implementing the project: “Countering violent extremism - engagement of citizens in prevention”. The main aim of the project is to raise the citizen’s awareness in prevention of violent extremism in Kosovo. This project is aimed also to improve the communication between citizens and state institution for better cooperation and coordination on countering and preventing violent extremism in Kosovo. The KCSS through this project expects to organize the roundtable discussions with the representatives of state institutions in local and central level, security institutions, Islamic Association in Kosovo, media, civil society and other stakeholders, with the aimed to discuss the alternatives for countering and violent extremism in Kosovo. Except the roundtables in the municipalities of Podujeva, and Mitrovica, the KCSS will also organize the debates with the high school students of Podujeva and Mitrovica, with the main goal to raise the awareness to students against negative effects of the violent extremism in Kosovo, and also to developing of the critical thinking to the citizens against extremism.
The implementation of this project has started in September 2015, and is financially supported by Balkan Trust for Democracy (BTD)
