About Project

Kosovo in the Context of Regional Police Cooperation

The aim of this project is to address the challenges Kosovo faces when it comes to the regional police cooperation in the very complex political and security environment in the Western Balkans. The main objective of this project is to increase the participation of Kosovo in regional security initiatives, as well as strengthen regional police cooperation as one of the main condition to pave the way for visa liberalization for Kosovo and European integration processes.

The aim of this project is to identify alternatives and measures to:

1. Increase the participation of Kosovo in International and Regional Security Initiatives – by identifying ways of including Kosovo in regional security initiatives, such as: Police Convention, SELEC, Southeast Europe Police Chiefs Association and other international forums.

2. Promotion of Bilateral Cooperation with Serbian Police – where the opportunities for bilateral police cooperation will be identified, focusing primarily on the cooperation of the Serbian Police. Concrete objective is advocating for bilateral police cooperation in order to combat cross-border challenges and threats.

The project is supported by the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS).
