KCSS is continuing to organize meetings with women local communities and institutional representatives in municipalities of Kosovo. This week, the meeting was organized in Istog Municipality. The meeting was attended by municipality representatives, Kosovo Police representatives, Center for Social Work representatives, women and other activists.
Participants emphasized the need for more therapists and psychologists to deal with cases of domestic violence, as well as a better cooperation within the local mechanism against domestic violence. Moreover, similar to other municipalities, institutions emphasized the lack of funds, human resources, as well as suitable spaces to treat survivors of domestic violence.
More raising awareness campaigns against domestic violence, and the economic empowerment and employment of women in this municipality, were raised as two crucial points by women who attended this meeting.
Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) is supported by the program of the Kosovo Civil Society Foundation (KCSF) 'EJA Kosovo', co-financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Sweden and the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
