BUILDING CAPACITY FOR THE WESTERN BALKANS: SECURITY SECTOR AND DEFENCE INSTITUTIONS

In the framework of Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Ministry of Defence of Bulgaria on 11 th of May 2018 organized a high expert level workshop in Sofia on “Building Capacity for the Western Balkans: Security Sector and Defence Institutions”.

Researcher of Kosovar Centre for Security Studies, Plator Avdiu presented in the first panel with respect to challenges on security sector and defence institutions reforms in Kosovo with a view to their future European integration. In this regard, his presentation was focused on current developments, challenges and future steps of the security sector in Kosovo in terms of the EU and NATO integration.

The workshop was attended by representatives of the EU Member States and institutions, NATO and OSCE as well as security and defence policy experts from institutions, academia and non-governmental sector of the Western Balkans.
