Last week, during the Regional Youth Partnership Program, KCSS participated in the thematic meeting held during the Belgrade Security Conference for Young Leaders. This gathering brought together young professionals from Kosovo, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina for an inspiring and impactful event in Belgrade, Serbia.
Over the course of four days, participants engaged in a series of interactive and intellectually stimulating activities. The program commenced with a visit to the Museum of Yugoslavia, followed by an engaging welcome session aimed at fostering connections and collaboration among new and alumni of RYP program.
A key highlight of the first official day was the strategic simulation exercise “Horizons,” facilitated by Dr. David Banks from King’s College London. Through this immersive war gaming activity, participants assumed the roles of global powers, navigating intricate military, political, economic, and technological challenges in a simulated geopolitical environment.
In addition to these practical exercises, the program featured enriching discussions with panelists, focusing on critical topics such as the European Union's influence in global geopolitics, the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, and strategies for advancing peace and stability in the Western Balkans.
This unique experience provided a valuable platform for learning, collaboration, and meaningful dialogue, equipping participants with insights and skills to address contemporary security challenges.
This impactful program was made possible thanks to the support of USAID Kosovo, IRI, Belgrade Centre for Security Policy Fondacija Ana i Vlade Divac, PEN, PRONI, and Kosovar Center for Security Studies (KCSS). Their commitment to empowering youth and fostering regional cooperation is truly commendable.
