CONFERENCE: GENDER AND SECURITY SECTOR IN KOSOVO AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE UNSCR 1325

KONFERENCË: POZITA E GRUAS NË SEKTORIN E SIGURISË DHE ZBATIMI I REZOLUTËS 1325 TË KOMBEVE TË BASHKUARA

Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) organizes an international conference on: ‘Gender and Security Sector in Kosovo and the Implementation of the UNSCR 1325'.

The conference is organized in partnership with NATO as the first event of one Kosovar institute and NATO Public Division Diplomacy, where gender and security sector is assigned as the initial topic. The conference will bring senior representatives from NATO with headquarters in Brussels as well as professors from Albania, Slovenia and Montenegro.

The conference aims to discuss the position of women in the security sector in Kosovo, including the position of women in NATO member and aspirant countries. This conference will also provide a platform of research and discussion focused on issues related to the implementation of UNSCR. Beside the discussion, the selected researchers will present their preliminary findings on the position of women in the security sector in Kosovo, in the region, and in Europe. The third panel will be tailored to women's position in NATO missions in Kosovo (KFOR) and Afghanistan (ISAF).

All presentations will be held in Albanian (translation for English, Albanian, Serbian and vice versa will be provided).
