The Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS), as part of the ASCEND-WB6 project in the framework of the hashtag#IGNITA Initiative, supported by the Open Society Foundations - Western Balkans (OSF-WB), is pleased to invite you to a webinar on challenges and opportunities for more excellent Regional Security Cooperation in the Western Balkans. Regional security cooperation in the Western Balkans is a critical yet often overlooked dimension of the region's European integration process.
Despite facing shared security challenges, deeper cooperation is hindered by political polarization, persistent bilateral disputes, and a lack of institutional trust. Strengthening security cooperation is essential to counter disinformation, malign foreign influence, and other cross-border security threats.
At this conference, KCSS will launch a new analysis examining:
β
The state of regional security cooperation and its significance.
β
Regional security cooperation in countering malign foreign influence.
β
The importance of security cooperation in the European integration process.
β
Institutional approaches to regional security cooperation.
