Kosovar Centre for Security Studies, today, on 11th of July 2017, has organized the activity in the municipality of Vitia about the role of women in preventing violent extremism leading to radicalism. This event brought together all women’s business organizations in Vitia which mainly deal with traditional foods, volunteer work and other activities in their community. During the discussion it was estimated that women’s economic empowerment, and supporting new businesses, and education are the main factors influencing the prevention of violent extremism and women’s power in general.
Representatives from the Kosovo Police in the municipality of Vitia indicated that more work should be done to enable women to report cases of violent extremism and cooperation between institutions and Islamic Community in Vitia.
