Adelina Hasani, researcher at the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies, moderated a high-level panel titled "The Quiet Crisis: Mental Health in Global Security Agendas", held within the framework of the Women, Peace and Security Forum.
The panel explored the often-overlooked consequences of armed conflict on mental health, with a particular focus on how violence, displacement, and loss of essential services disproportionately affect mothers and children. Speakers underscored the urgent need to integrate maternal and child well-being into peacebuilding and post-conflict recovery processes.
Discussions highlighted how peace agreements can be structured to safeguard families better and addressed both the immediate and long-term impacts of conflict on maternal and child health. Panelists also shared examples of successful interventions that have contributed to resilience and security for war-affected communities.
