Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) is organizing the second round of meetings of the Women Security Forum in Kosovo platform, within the framework of the "Building Resilience: Communities against Violent Extremism” project, supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kosovo.
Knowing that women are often overlooked, are absent, or are not involved in discussions for security, their concerns and points of view are not taken into account during policymaking. This often leads to ineffective security policies because they do not fully address the needs of the whole community. Women Security Forum is a platform that enables Kosovar girls and women from different backgrounds to address their concerns regarding security and to openly discuss how these concerns need to be addressed.
The first meeting of this Forum for this year was held yesterday with women and girls from Mitrovica, where it was discussed about the security challenges that women and girls from Mitrovica are facing, as well as the need for further engagement of the local and central institutions to work on these challenges.
