KCSS executive director, Florian Qehaja has participated in the debate ”National security and internal affairs” organized by the Prishtina Institute for Political Studies. This debate is part of the closed debate cycles that aim to provide an immediate alternative action focus on five key challenges for the new government.
Invited as an expert, Qehaja gave his contribution while debating on these topics:
° Strategic Review of the Security Sector – According to Qehaja, strategic review is a meaningful process for the KSF and for the first time is based on the local context, even though there still remain some modalities for approval in assembly due to the presence of the Srpska List.
° Security Verification process – verification of deputies is not a good practice and he considers it as a degraded process, according to him it is necessary to review the Law on Classification of Information and Security Verification.
° Relations with Serbia – regarding the relations with Serbia, several processes should be adjusted such as Integrated Border Management, civil protection of parallel structures, standardization of community safety and the integration of Kosovo in regional security initiatives.
