With the support of Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS), in Brussels from 14-16 March KCSS team presented its research findings on “Kosovo’s path towards integration in NATO Partnership for Peace (PfP) programme”. The research team composed of Mentor Vrajolli, Pëllumb Kallaba and Florian Qehaja met several NATO officials from the Public Diplomacy Division, as well as a special advocacy meeting was held in the headquarter of European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO). Furthermore, KCSS team had a meeting with the European External Action Service officials, respectively with Crisis Management and Planning Directorate while both exchanged their views on the role of EULEX and its strategic reconfiguration in justice and security sector during 2012.

KCSS team had the opportunity to explore with numerous interlocutors the current challenges of Kosovo towards joining the Euro-Atlantic processes, including the necessity of Kosovo to establish contractual relationship with NATO. Additionally, KCSS team advocated for more space and opportunities with regard to civil society interaction of Kosovo with NATO Public Diplomacy Division. This policy paper has been acknowledged by both, NATO officials and civil society organizations in Brussels, as a very important document in triggering a debate and opening new alternatives for cooperation between Kosovo’s institutions and NATO. During April 2012, KCSS will organize new country-based advocacy meetings in Prishtina.
