Following global trends that give a broad understanding of the role of women in creating and maintaining global peace and security, KCSS has begun implementing projects on the issue of gender equality in the field of security. In addition to this program, the gender component is deeply embedded in almost every other KCSS program and project through activities aimed at equal representation of genders in security sector decision-making and peacebuilding. Moreover, in most of our publications we try to address the gender aspect in various areas related to security.
All projects related to this program aim to provide a comprehensive analysis of the general state of representation of women in the security sector, in peacebuilding, and security in general. To help address the gender equality challenges in security and peacebuilding that we identify in our research, we provide recommendations on how to move forward on the most pressing issues in equal inclusion in peacebuilding and security.
