In Lipjan, the Community Forum for Public Interest discussed potential interethnic cooperation initiatives

On May 5, 2023, the second meeting of the Community Forum for Public Interest was held in Lipjan. This is an informal platform that brings together members of majority and minority communities to discuss cooperation. The forum was established as part of a project to promote interethnic relations and cooperation (FIERC) implemented by the KCSS and NSI and funded by the German government.

The forum was established as part of a project to promote interethnic relations and cooperation (FIERC) implemented by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics and the National Statistical Institute and funded by the German government.

The meeting was chaired by Lulzim Qerimi, Deputy Mayor for Communities, who informed the participants that the Mayor of Lipjan, Imri Ahmeti, had decided on March 22, 2023, to establish the Community Forum for Public Interest. The meeting also introduced Mr. Qëndrim Gashi, the mentor of the Lipjan Community Forum.

The meeting focused on discussing interethnic cooperation projects, and some of the ideas presented include public lighting at the entrance to the village of Gracka, improvement of some streets in the village of Janjeva, public lighting in the new neighborhood of Lipjan, the road to Suhadoll, a sidewalk inside the small village of Hallaq where different communities live, organizing meetings with women of all communities in their respective languages to discuss property registration and ownership, and providing assistance to the Serbian school Braqe Arsic with renovation and photocopying. Consultations will continue among the community members, while the FIERC project will support the implementation of a community project worth 500 euros in the coming days.
